Custom Semi Flatbed Fabrication in Caldwell, Idaho
We build custom semi flatbeds from scratch — not bolted together from a catalog, but engineered, cut, and welded in our Caldwell shop. Every deck, every cabinet, every fender is designed around how your operation actually runs. If you're hauling steel on I-84 or running equipment across Canyon County, we build flatbeds that survive the work.
How Our Build Process Works
Every custom flatbed starts on screen before it hits the shop floor. We model the entire deck in CAD — frame geometry, storage layout, fender contours, lighting paths — so we can work out fitment issues before we cut a single piece of steel. That's not an academic exercise. It means your flatbed goes together clean the first time, with no guess-and-check rework eating into your timeline.
CAD Design — Every Dimension Locked Before We Cut
Final Build — Powder-Coated and Ready to Work
From Plasma Table to Press Brake
Once the design is locked, we cut on our CNC plasma table and form structural members on the press brake. The main deck is 1/8" diamond plate — heavy enough for daily abuse, textured for grip. LED marker lights run through internal framing channels so wiring stays protected from road vibration and weather over 100,000+ miles a year.
Storage goes in where it makes sense for the operator — integrated locking cabinets with chrome T-handle latches, sized for your tools and straps. Custom contoured fenders match the truck's lines instead of hanging generic bolt-on units that rattle loose.
The Final Build
Matte industrial powder coat holds up to years of highway abuse while keeping a clean, professional look.
What We Build
We don't do one-size-fits-all. Every flatbed is built for the truck it's going on and the work it's doing. Common builds include:
- Deck-over flatbeds — full-width deck for wide loads, steel hauling, equipment transport
- Specialty trailers — custom configurations for specific cargo types
- Flatbeds with integrated storage — locking cabinets, toolboxes, strap bins built into the frame
- Fleet builds — matching flatbeds across multiple trucks, consistent specs and finish
What to Bring to Your First Meeting
We can get started faster when you come prepared. Here's what helps:
- Truck specs — make, model, year, frame dimensions, axle spacing
- What you haul — steel, equipment, lumber, mixed loads — this drives deck layout and weight rating
- Photos of your current setup — if you're replacing an existing flatbed, show us what works and what doesn't
- Storage needs — how many cabinets, what goes in them, where you want them
- Timeline — we'll tell you honestly what we can hit and what takes longer
Turnaround and What to Expect
Most custom semi flatbed builds run 2–4 weeks from design approval to completion, depending on complexity. Fleet builds with multiple units may run longer — we'll give you a real schedule, not a sales estimate. We're based near I-84 Exit 29 in Caldwell, so dropping off and picking up is easy for Canyon County operators.
If you're tired of bolt-on flatbeds that don't fit your operation, give us a call. We'll measure your truck, design around your work, and build something that lasts.
